Michael Rawding
Founding Partner

Michael previously served as the President of Microsoft Greater China, Microsoft Japan, and Microsoft Asia. He has also worked on a variety of cross-border leadership assignments during his tenure at Spencer Stuart, gaining an appreciation of both recruiting and developing local talent. Michael was previously Chairman of the Washington State China Relations Council, served on the Board of Governors at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and is a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations.

Eugene Saburi
Founding Partner

Eugene served as President of Adobe Systems Japan, successfully transforming the business to a cloud-based subscription model while successfully launching the digital marketing business. Prior to joining Adobe, Eugene spent 19 years at Microsoft where he assumed leadership roles in the areas of Enterprise IT, Server Products, Cloud Services, and Mobility. Nine years of that time was at Microsoft Japan, leading its marketing and product operations. Eugene is currently a board member of the University of Washington Alumni Association, Japan.

Mike Chao
Founding Partner

Mike was previously at Dolby Laboratories, where he held the positions of Regional VP Asia-Pacific and Managing Director, Greater China. At Dolby, Mike was responsible for nearly half of the company’s revenues, building the Dolby ecosystem across content partners, chipset makers, operators, and OEMs.  Prior to Dolby, Mike was a Principal at BCG, helping global technology leaders formulate and execute their China strategy. Mike also spent ten years at Microsoft, during which time he held a variety of positions in marketing, product planning, finance, operations, and sales.

Waten Suzuki
GM, Japan

Waten-san began his career at ISI-D (a Dentsu-GE joint venture) followed by Microsoft, SoftBank, Citrix and Adobe where he served in a variety of leadership capacities, developing senior level relationships with leading Japanese enterprise companies.  A graduate of Keio University, he holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and completed the EMBA program at The Amos Tuck School of Dartmouth College.  Waten-san is based in Tokyo.

Michael Postek

Principal

Michael spent 20 years of his career in Japan with software companies ranging from startups to larger enterprises including Oracle and Adobe. With an early focus in the field as a solution consultant, he held roles in regional product management and partner and business development, culminating in a role leading the launch of one of Adobe's key digital experience technologies in the Japan market. Since 2015, Michael has resided in the Silicon Valley area where he most recently led technology partner development for Adobe's emerging digital experience products.


Takuya Hirano Strategic Partner

Takuya served as the president of Microsoft Japan, Central Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.  Microsoft Japan became #1 brand in Japan across all domestic and international companies as an outcome of his business transformation initiatives. He also led the global alliance business for system integrators and advisory partners at Microsoft Corp.  Prior to Microsoft, he was the president of Hyperion Japan (acquired by Oracle).  Currently, he serves on the board across publicly traded and privately held companies, professional sports organization, and startup organizations. 


Benoit Van Thienen

Strategic Partner Europe

Benoit is an investor and advisor working with both early stage and established companies. During his career at Microsoft, he held leadership positions across sales, channel, and services in Europe and Asia. Most recently he spearheaded innovation in partnership with leading global customers in areas like connected cars, geo-spatial imagery and digital health.
He started his career at a retail startup and continued to hone his entrepreneurial skills by investing in early-stage startups and NGOs. Benoit has lived in Barcelona, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris, and Brussels. Benoit received a degree and a Master in Applied Economics (Louvain School of Management & KUL).
